History of COVAL

Over 30 years of innovation in industrial vacuum.

Since 1986...

  • 1986: Creation of the COVAL company in Montélier
  • 1995: Creation of the GVP series modular venturi range
  • 1997: Factory expansion, setting up of a new Research and Development plan, creation of the GVA and VR series of micro vacuum generators.
  • 1998: Coval patents a new material Siton®, known for its resistance to high temperature and abrasion. 
  • 2001: Coval launches a new vacuum technology: the GVMAX vacuum pump - for use in the automotive market.
  • 2002: Creation of a new range of handling systems and development of the Vacuum switch range.
  • 2003: COVAL is now acknowledged at European level in the domain of vacuum management.
  • 2004: Launch of a new subsidiary in Spain: COVAL IBERICA
  • 2005: GEM series, a TWINTECH vacuum pump, a COVAL patented technology with intelligent functions, significant suction flow combined with silent technology, is launched. 
  • 2006: ISO9001 V2005 certification
  • 2007: Launch of new subsidiary in the USA = COVAL-Inc
  • 2008: Launch of the new LEM series range of mini vacuum pumps (TWINTECH technology)
    Creation of the Italian subsidiary => COVAL Italia
  • 2009: Launch of new subsidiary in Germany = COVAL GmbH
  • 2010: COVAL won the 2010 Mechatronics prize, at the 2010 EMM, for the new LEMAX series ASC mini vacuum pump.

  • 2011: COVAL celebrates its 25th anniversary.
  • 2013: Industrial Innovation Prize for the Rhône-Alpes region
  • 2014: New range of Intelligent vacuum pumps, LEM+ & LEMAX+ Series
  • 2015: SME MECHATRONICS AWARDS 2015 for LEMCOM vacuum pumps
  • 2016: 30 years of the company - Innovation COVAL, the first communicating vacuum pumps, Sérle LEMCOM (EtherNet/IP)
  • 2017: New range of suction cups for handling FlowPack, FPC Series
  • 2018: COVAL innovation: 5 new products
    • CVPC series of pilot operated vacuum cartridges, as well as the CVP vacuum cartridges and the CBP pilot cartridge.
    • CVGL Series: New vacuum gripper
    • Addition to the LEMCOM range, with a new field bus, ProfiNet.
    • 2019: Launch of the new CVGC series range of Carbon vacuum gripper for Cobot
      New range of vacuum lifting devices for handling heavy loads, VACUOGRIP series.
  • 2021: Launch of 2 new ranges of vacuum pumps:
    • GVMAX HD Series: Heavy Duty Communicating vacuum pumps
    • LEMAX IO Series: IO-Link mini vacuum pumps
  • 2022: New Heavy Duty multi-stage vacuum pumps => CMS HD Series
  • 2023: COVAL joins the PIAB group
    • New CMS HD VX multistage vacuum pumps
    • CTC high performance bell-type suction cups
